Some problem came up late yesterday at work so i knew it would be a hectic and busy morning.
Everything came as expected. I got tonnes of data to manage, meetings to call, people to instruct and materials to collect. Until my boss decide to tell me to do something which only i knew, able and can do. I got frustrated and told him that the line will stop if i am ever not around. It simply should not be the way to do things, there should always be someone who can help to do my tasks whenever i am not around.
Take for instance the day when i was sick and had to stay at home to rest. My boss have no idea how to create some data for the line to run and the line literally had to wait for me to come back the next day. One day or two is still tolerable, imagine the shit work accumulated if i were to go for some holiday.
What pissed me off is my boss’ attitude. I expect my boss to know the stuffs i do, know how to do but not necessarily do it. Regretfully, he doesn’t. Or maybe i am expecting too much from him, huh?
So after my outburst of tulan-ness, he also flared up and wants to know why i am the only one who can do it. He apparently expected some storeman to do the same things as i do while totally ignoring why engineers are given the responsibility. He showed no hint of desire to learn the stuff i know.
Somehow, i didn’t feel bad about this little exchange of words. Ruffling his feathers the wrong way actually felt good. I am glad that i am able to show my disgust in front of him.
It was the first, but definitely not the last time this will happen.
